Seattle plays host to the first festival dedicated to Charcuterie and Cheese
The Cheese and Meat Festival Releases Seattle Date: April 29th
The first Cheese & Meat festival showcasing cheese and meat (charcuterie) arrives in Seattle on Saturday, April 29th, 2017. With the recent boom in artisan shops across the Pacific Northwest the Cheese and Meat festival will exhibit both international and local cheese and meat in an experiential tasting format.
Cheese & Meat will take place at the beautiful setting of the McCaw Hall. Attendees will wander the grounds at their leisure, enjoying bite-sized morsels of cheese and meat paired with wine, beer, cider, and delectable accompaniments. This is an exciting time in Seattle! The abundance of artisan shops and restaurants thoughtfully pairing fantastic cheese and charcuterie products has never been greater.
“The festival gives attendees the ability to learn about new cheeses, meats and pairings while tasting the product itself. The vast array of food they taste gives attendees sense of that next charcuterie board build,” Festival said Dave Bain, Cheese and Meat Festival Producer. “It also allows mom and pop shops to showcase their homemade recipes, and gain marketing exposure they would not be able to afford before.”
Proceeds from the Cheese and Meat Festival will go towards educating and aiding its patrons and surrounding community. The festival creates a support program to offer low-income or at risk mothers a seminar focused on healthy living, and generating engagement with local vendors.
Have you had a cheese or meat that was so good you wanted to buy it directly from the restaurant’s stock? Never fear, the Cheese and Meat festival will have an on-site store to allow attendees to buy the product they’ve fallen in love with, on their way out the door.
The festival will consist of two tasting sessions. The afternoon tasting will take place from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and the evening tasting will take place from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Seminars are scheduled between each tasting, featuring cheese and meat creations, pairings, and unique offerings. Tickets are on sale February 1st at www.cheeseandmeatfestival.com for just $55 before tax and service fees. This event is a 21+ event – no minors.
